I've been sick with the flu since Saturday and just now recovering from it. What I've done was trim and sand the armor parts and got it prepped for painting hopefully tomorrow. It takes about 1.5 to 2.o hours to trim and sand each part depending on the type of clone trooper ie: commander, pilot etc.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><img src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_dVLMM8I09SI/SzMMllxuU1I/AAAAAAAAAFY/pqFh8CJoSOs/s400/DSC00947.JPG" style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 300px; height: 400px;" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5418688616592200530" /></div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div>Gene Rosshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02025275237845961243noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1853902816262189253.post-49689830432587090912009-10-27T17:55:00.001-07:002009-10-27T19:09:02.926-07:00EP3 AT-TE Tank Gunner<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_dVLMM8I09SI/SuenlOPMcBI/AAAAAAAAAD4/RCWRd2ItYR8/s1600-h/AT-TE+Tank+Gunner.gif"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 280px; height: 280px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_dVLMM8I09SI/SuenlOPMcBI/AAAAAAAAAD4/RCWRd2ItYR8/s320/AT-TE+Tank+Gunner.gif" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5397466936345653266" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_dVLMM8I09SI/SueYs5pZcMI/AAAAAAAAADw/vADsWi28BMY/s1600-h/AT-TE+Helmet+Front.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 294px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_dVLMM8I09SI/SueYs5pZcMI/AAAAAAAAADw/vADsWi28BMY/s320/AT-TE+Helmet+Front.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5397450575582949570" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_dVLMM8I09SI/SueYouEICrI/AAAAAAAAADo/HVLpQlCzCVA/s1600-h/AT-TE+Helmet+Back.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 256px; height: 320px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_dVLMM8I09SI/SueYouEICrI/AAAAAAAAADo/HVLpQlCzCVA/s320/AT-TE+Helmet+Back.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5397450503754353330" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_dVLMM8I09SI/SueYk3MRrrI/AAAAAAAAADg/U44gamMVh1Q/s1600-h/AT-TE+Chest+Plate.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 221px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_dVLMM8I09SI/SueYk3MRrrI/AAAAAAAAADg/U44gamMVh1Q/s320/AT-TE+Chest+Plate.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5397450437484981938" /></a><br /><div><br /></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:arial;">I was inspired by my 7 yr. old son's 3/4" Hasbro AT-TE Tank Gunner figure from EP3 (ROTS), that I had to make a 12" version for myself from a kit bash of 12" figure accessories. I don't have an update on the republic commando sculpt but I am currently working on my buddy Skip's Commander Gree 12" figure. This must be one of the most challenging clones to make due it's unique paint scheme. I am trying to make it as accurate as possible but I think it's turning out pretty good. I painted the body armor a base green mixed together from hunter green and country tan. Then I will dry brush the camouflage pattern on the thighs, knees, arms, elbows, knee/hand plates, cod/butt plates, belt, and ab plate. I'll post an update after I do the camouflage paint job.<br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://i131.photobucket.com/albums/p317/erossgr/Clonetrooper/Custom%20Figures/DSC00511.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 524px; height: 575px;" src="http://i131.photobucket.com/albums/p317/erossgr/Clonetrooper/Custom%20Figures/DSC00511.jpg" border="0" alt="" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://i131.photobucket.com/albums/p317/erossgr/Clonetrooper/Custom%20Figures/DSC00508.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 361px; height: 458px;" src="http://i131.photobucket.com/albums/p317/erossgr/Clonetrooper/Custom%20Figures/DSC00508.jpg" border="0" alt="" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://i131.photobucket.com/albums/p317/erossgr/Clonetrooper/Custom%20Figures/DSC00509.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 419px; height: 455px;" src="http://i131.photobucket.com/albums/p317/erossgr/Clonetrooper/Custom%20Figures/DSC00509.jpg" border="0" alt="" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://i131.photobucket.com/albums/p317/erossgr/Clonetrooper/Custom%20Figures/DSC00507.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 413px; height: 456px;" src="http://i131.photobucket.com/albums/p317/erossgr/Clonetrooper/Custom%20Figures/DSC00507.jpg" border="0" alt="" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://i131.photobucket.com/albums/p317/erossgr/Clonetrooper/Custom%20Figures/DSC00506.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 335px; height: 461px;" src="http://i131.photobucket.com/albums/p317/erossgr/Clonetrooper/Custom%20Figures/DSC00506.jpg" border="0" alt="" /></a><br /><br /><div><br /></div><div><br /></div>Gene Rosshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02025275237845961243noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1853902816262189253.post-31128286523203170482009-03-06T01:08:00.000-08:002009-03-06T01:19:02.688-08:00The Original RC Helmet Sculpt<a href="http://i131.photobucket.com/albums/p317/erossgr/DSC00461-1-1.jpg"><img style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 106px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 135px" alt="" src="http://i131.photobucket.com/albums/p317/erossgr/DSC00461-1-1.jpg" border="0" /></a><span style="font-family:arial;">Nothing new on the RC helmet sculpt coz I didn't get a chance to work on it today. So, I am happy to say that I am in progress of making sculpts for a 12" Republic Commando figure. A couple of months ago, I sculpted an RC helmet out of clay on an AOTC clone helmet base (fin filed off) but it didn't work out. So, I started to sculpt a new 1/6 scale RC helmet from a solid piece of clay. I used scaled down pics of an RC in 1/6 scale and cut them out so I can used them as templates to get the proper shape and sizing for the clay model. I also used a 3.75" RC figure to refer to its dimensions.</span></span></span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:arial;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:small;"> </span></span></span>Gene Rosshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02025275237845961243noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1853902816262189253.post-8666498243131946092009-03-04T00:35:00.000-08:002009-03-04T17:56:36.711-08:00My 12" Custom Clones<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://i131.photobucket.com/albums/p317/erossgr/DSC00400-1.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://i131.photobucket.com/albums/p317/erossgr/DSC00400-1.jpg" border="0" alt="" /></a><div style="text-align: left;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style=" white-space: pre-wrap; -webkit-border-horizontal-spacing: 2px; -webkit-border-vertical-spacing: 2px; "><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:arial;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;">By profession, I worked in the IT field, but after my second child was born, I became a full time dad.
